Grid Integration of a Dual Two-Level Voltage-Source Inverter Considering Grid Impedance and Phase-Locked Loop

This article proposes a dual two-level voltage-source inverter (DTL VSI) and its control to effectively integrate two dc sources into the multi-infeed ac/dc (MIACDC) power architecture of fully integrated energy systems (FIPESs). The current-controlled method is also synthesized proposed grid-connected DTL VSI. To this end, provides mathematical analyses comparing VSI with conventional VSIs (TL VSIs). linearized state-space models both are mathematically derived for analyzing dynamics structures. These reveal salient feature used in grid integration. space-phasor analysis employed, phase-locked loop (PLL) impedance considered. (with algorithm) not only weak grids (for normal conditions) but even after fault removal faulty stabilizes active reactive improved transient performance compared that counterpart. Therefore, it enhances operation range integrating various entities FIPES’ MIACDC architecture. supportive simulation results experiments generated by MATLAB scaled-down test rig, respectively.
